Al Williamson's Candid Candidate

Cliff Merritt and the Very Candid Candidate was a giveaway comic book published by the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen union. It's undated and non-copyrighted, the second of two comic books artist Al Williamson did about Cliff Merritt. I estimate it came from the late 1960s or early 1970s, probably at the same time Williamson was doing the comic strip Secret Agent Corrigan.

Thanks so much for posting this!

I have the original comic of "Cliff Merritt Sets The Record Straight", got it off ebay. This one however, I could not find. It is nice to just be able to see the art, which to a large extent, is why I bought the previously mentioned.

Al Williamson is probably my favorite artist, I love his Secret Agent Corrigan strips and his King Flash Gordon comics he did. His Star Wars stories are amazing as well. He is THE artist that made me work harder on my drawing technique.

Do you know if there is any way to contact Mr. Williamson, even with a regular, good old envelope? Would love to have the chance to meet him.
