Cobean's drawing looks more gag cartoony, less like a New Yorker cartoonist of the time. At least it does to me. But he wouldn't have been in that sophisticated magazine unless his gags matched the standards set by the other artists like Addams, Arno, etc.

These are neat. Style looks like a cross between Chas. Addams and Virgil Partch ('VIP')
