The last posting with the Buck Rogers Better Little Book is a good lead-in for this: It's a trippy strip that morphs into a great homage to Dick Calkins' Buck Rogers. "Wyatt Winghead in Outer Space" is by underground comix great Larry Welz, published in AMERICAN FLYER FUNNIES #1.
