Peter Arno
Cartoonist Peter Arno was born Curtis Arnoux Peters, Jr. in 1904. He died in 1968. His witty, immaculately drawn cartoons were published in The New Yorker. There are even claims that the cliché, "Back to the old drawing board!" originated with a cartoon caption of his from 1941.
These scans are from the great Dave Miller collection, from the Arno books SIZZLING PLATTER and HELL OF A WAY TO RUN A RAILROAD. For the sake of us with aging hairy eyeballs, Dave has kindly redone the small-size captions in a typeface we can read. Thanks from the bottom of the orbicularis orbis, Dave.
